@zaras_locksfromlove: Angela with @the.knotty.bird came all the way down from Virginia to spend the day with me studying dreadlock extension creation, and what a fun day we had! 🤎 We talked locs, techniques, hair, art, business, creativity… and of course plenty of life mixed in between. 😂 There is something incredibly refreshing about spending time with another artist who is at the beginning of their journey as a Loctician. You can feel that excitement—the hunger to learn, the questions, the ideas already forming, and most importantly, the genuine love for the craft. And Angela absolutely has that. 🙌🏻 I was SO impressed with how quickly she picked up the techniques I showed her. We covered a LOT, from the foundations of extension creation to the little details that take something from simply being technically correct to becoming your own art. Because ultimately, that’s what I hope someone takes away from learning with me. I don’t want to teach someone how to create exactly like I do. I want to give them the knowledge, techniques and understanding they need so they can eventually develop their own hands, their own eye and their own artistic voice. And I cannot wait to watch Angela do exactly that. 🖤 There’s something really special about watching this craft continue to grow through another artist, and I’m grateful I got to be a small part of the beginning of her journey.
