If you’re traveling with another person, do two roomettes on opppsite sides. That way you can have views from both sides of the train.

Husband and I did a train right from Union Station to Seattle. It wasn’t bad but I slept on the top bunk and i kept thinking I was gonna fall 😂asleep

We went from Seattle to Milwaukee and back on the Empire. Great experience. I’d just say bring cleaning wipes the train out was actually pretty dirty going back was better but did a full wipe down and nice to have for the bathrooms.

If you are traveling as a single do you get the roomette all to yourself or can a stranger book the second seat/bed and then you have to share the space with someone you don’t know?

I took the Amtrak from Chicago-New York a few years ago and it’s interesting to see the differences! My sleeping car had a toilet and sink in the room where your steps are which was such an odd thing to experience 😂 I traveled with my sister and even though we’re very close, it’s still weird using the toilet right next to where you sleep LOL

HAVE TO DO THIS NEXT YEAR when I can afford visiting USA! I do have a question, how much time do you get during the stops? I would love to walk around lil towns for an hour or so but your videos seem to show it's more like a 10 minute stop

I took an Amtrak alone with 2 little kids from a Chicago suburb to MN and it was such a nice way to travel where I didn’t have to drive and throw snacks at them- I could just give them my attention and the train was such a novelty they were so good. A long trip is on my travel bucket list!
