PM&DC President Holds Meeting with VCs, Provincial Health Authorities, Asks Them to Ensure Smooth and Transparent Conduct of MDCAT 2026 Islamabad, September 10, 2026: President Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj chaired a high-level meeting to review arrangements for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT), scheduled on September 20, 2026. The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellors of the universities conducting MDCAT, relevant provincial secretaries and health authorities, along with senior officials of PM&DC. The meeting reviewed preparations for the examination to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place across the country. A total of 138,158 candidates have been registered for MDCAT 2026. The examination will be conducted at 35 cities/towns across Pakistan, along with one international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Honourable Prime Minister has desired to ensure the smooth conduct of MDCAT in a highly transparent, fair and orderly manner, with zero tolerance for any compromise on its integrity. The President PM&DC emphasised strict adherence to PM&DC policies and guidelines. The meeting also conducted a detailed review of arrangements for medical support, emergency response and facilitation services at examination centres to ensure a safe and conducive environment for all candidates, including those from AJK. The participating universities and provincial authorities were advised to ensure that examination centres are adequately prepared, with appropriate seating, essential facilities, security measures and necessary arrangements for candidates and their accompanying parents or guardians. The PM&DC clarified that it has provided unified regulatory standards of papers for the MDCAT. The responsibility for the on-ground conduct and administrative arrangements of the examination, including maintaining transparency and secrecy of the papers at the respective centres, rests with the provincial authorities and universities. The Vice Chancellors and representatives of the provincial authorities assured the President that all prescribed requirements would be met, and necessary arrangements completed well in time.
