This whole “well my family yada yada so I’m smarter than you”argument is so stupid. You’re not superior because you have heard stuff from your grandad - obviously I assume you weren’t actually there. And on any side 1 families or persons experience of course can be used meaningfully but not as a set in stone - absolute unyielding argument against an entire ideology - The biggest flaw in that reasoning is that your entire foundation falls apart the second someone strays from the incredibly black and white view “everyone who lived in communism hated it and everyone who lives in capitalism is lucky.” Someone who also lived in or family lived in a communist country can still sing its praises and a family whose lived in harrowing - near fatal poverty in the United States - or a child who’s been a slave worker in the Congo could share capitalism as a negative. And then you have no argument. You just can’t boil down centuries of ideological theory and history to “good cop, bad cop” and the experience of one person at one place at one time, that’s too simplistic. So you’re not really inherently smarter than “girl living in USA” just because she is not from a communist country. If it works like that - you only see people’s views as accurate or inaccurate based on their heritage - what happens if a Russian backs her up or you confront the statistics that tell us in many post-USSR countries the majority of the population hold positive views? You’re essentially giving a cheat code to any communist who’s ever had any connection to a communist nation an ultimate get out of jail free card because if it’s coming from them it must be right, that’s your logic isn’t it? You can’t just base knowledge on heritage without any other factors

I don't understand why you think communists are 14 year old rich girls living in the US... like that's not true at all. The only people I've met who hated communism with all their hearts are people who now have perfect lives and their information comes from parents who were 15 when communism ended so I think they shouldn't have an opinion on this at all since they were hormonal teenagers and not adult working people who had to take care of a family
