My mom used to pay a babysitter every Friday to come pick me and my sister up from dance at 8:30 because it was my brothers senior football season and she didn’t want to miss it. He’s games started at 7 so she would’ve had to leave. Those fridays are some of my favorites as a kid cause my babysitter would take us to sonic and get a shake cause they were half off after 8, then we’d go back home and get to play until my mom got home at 10ish with my dad and brother. As a 8-9 year old that was pretty cool

Just so you know! Daycares deal with this a lot more often than people think, most of them just call police to hang out with the kid so the staff can go home.

I once had a mother late picking up her child. After 15min late I was ringing the mother. After 15min of no response I was calling the father. Finally got a hold of him and he said he would call the mother. She arrived 1hr after the studio had closed. I mentioned how I had missed my own plans (a movie with friends) because she was late. She said "well why would you make plans so close after the class finishing work? The movie started 45min after the class finished, and the theatre was only 5-10min down the road...

Are dance moms meaner than soccer moms? Because I will normally either drive a kid home or wait until the parent gets there if a parent is running late, whether I know the parent or not
