Thanks for this. I’m a neonatologist in a private group of nine docs who have provided excellent care for more than 20 years. Similar dynamics to the group you described. Very stable, near zero turnover. We’re starting to feel pressure to bend a knee to private equity. We have no intention of selling out, but there are rumblings from some executives to acquiesce. Keep the voice going.

the board of Asante is running this trauma center into the ground. the CEO lives in Texas.... tell me that makes sense🤦🏻♀️been working there for 3 years now and watching them destroy this place more and more.. they're also currently trying to push out the nurses union. the nurses will likely be striking soon.

To those outside of Oregon, the next closest NICU is at PeaceHealth in Springfield (yeah, that place with the ER fiasco) 170 miles away, Redding CA 180 miles away and Bend 200 miles away. Losing that NICU would create an almost 400 mile NICU desert along I-5. Love hospital admin!

My son was a NICU graduate in 2025 at Medford Asante Rogue Regional Hospital… I literally owe the dedicated staff there, everything 🥹 They saved both of our lives

Being “out of alignment with administration” is an open admission that it’s retaliatory. They were critical of administration’s decisions, so they were “not in alignment” and were fired. Valley Health in Winchester likes to use the term alignment to mean “physicians doing what we tell them” but frame it as a collaboration.

my daughter was a NICU baby at Asante and her neonatal team was unbelievable in their capabilities and their bedside manner. i felt so comfortable and at ease because of their dedication. my heart is broken for all the families in the valley who are going to suffer because of this😭

This is in my area. Asante let go over 300 employees at Medford and GP location. Our area is already suffering with lack of specialties and now this. Breaks my heart 😔
