I learned a trick on rednote, use a “clamp style straightening brush” while the crimped hair is still hot and it smoothes out the lines while still leaving the hair perfectly fluffy. If the hair is long and already cooled, just run back over it with the crimper again, but like a straightener and with little pressure, to get it hot again, and go over it. Zero technique needed. Just crimp and brush.
