I’m 33, born and raised in Texas. I love this because it gives me a glimpse of what maybe life was like for my dad who just turned 70! when him and my brother moved to America to meet my mom who left first for America to work as a nurse. My dad was a SAHD up until I was in HS, and eventually picked up a job as an electrician. He was and still is the hardest working man I’ve ever seen. Never not doing house chores, cooking, taking care of my mom my brother and then eventually me. All I ever saw was him staying busy, which is hard to say for today’s generation of husbands and dads. But I KNOW he use to cut up to with other Filipino dads in this same exact situation and that makes me smile thinking of him as a young husband and dad playing with his friend while all their wives worked.
