@hairykarimakeup: And I mean that with every piece of myself. . Cancer taught me that there is a kind of hurt deeper than losing people when you get sick. It’s realizing that while you were fighting for your life, some people weren’t simply absent. They were adding weight to the water. While I was losing my hair, my breasts, my strength, my sense of safety and pieces of the person I used to be, I was also defending my character, my business and my name against people who knew exactly what I was going through. I will never understand choosing someone’s most vulnerable season to hurt them. And I think that’s the part of cancer nobody prepares you for. You can forgive people. You can heal. You can move forward. But you cannot unknow who handed you a life jacket… and who saw you drowning and pushed your head further under. I made it to shore. And not everyone who watched me drown gets access to the woman who survived. #cancer #grief #survival #fyp
