Whoa, I’ve often felt that sad pulling away from my mom and and underlying frustration with my mom that I don’t like because I love her, dearly, but I saw the sacrifices and all she did and yes I was agitated by it for years, especially as a young adult. I know my girls already feel it or will soon and it breaks my heart

You wanna know why? Because daughters are forced to help take up the slack that the mother can't carry all by yourself. That is why we view them as a warning. We learn what not to do or what we won't accept.

Men experience their sacrifice in theory (ie. Gonna protect the family from this potential threat that hasn’t happened yet) but women experience their sacrifice in practice (the daily emotional and mental labor). And the world treats it as equal, whereas men may or may not actually have to make that sacrifice, but women must participate in it
