Her representative confirmed her death, but at this time, her cause of death has not been released. I found this audio of Hayden talking openly about her struggles with mental health, alcohol and substance abuse — and about finding her way out of that darkness. I wanted to share it tonight because sometimes the most powerful thing we can leave behind isn’t a headline about how someone died. It’s their own voice talking about how hard they fought to live. Hayden was incredibly open about some of the darkest periods of her life. She talked about addiction, mental health, motherhood, grief and the process of rebuilding herself. And whatever the circumstances surrounding her death ultimately turn out to be, we don’t know them tonight. So I’m not going to speculate. I’m just going to let Hayden’s own words be heard.
