@unapologeticallyafter: Numb skin. Scars. Instant medical menopause. Painful intercourse. Zero libido. Your body survived the treatment, but your connection to your own pleasure and intimacy feels completely gone. Because it’s considered "taboo," you carry this grief in total silence. You sit with the guilt of feeling disconnected from your partner, quietly wondering if this is just how it's going to be forever. When you try to bring it up, the world subtly reminds you to "just be glad you're alive." But survival shouldn't mean the end of your pleasure. Your body went through a war. It makes sense that intimacy feels terrifying, foreign, or physically painful right now. You are not broken, you are not failing, and you are not the only one navigating this. Reclaiming your sexuality after cancer isn't about snapping back. It’s a slow, quiet process of learning to inhabit a completely new physical and emotional landscape. And it starts with finally saying the quiet parts out loud. #lifeaftercancer #cancersurvivor #postcancerlife #cancerjourney #healingaftercancer #survivorship #womenaftercancer #youarenotalone #cancerreality

My wife hasn’t touched me in 4 years. I’m the one with stage 4 cancer. She treats me like I’m contaminated. I would just love a hug, a, kiss, a cuddle, anything. I love her and promise for better or worse and in sickness or health.

It's a problem I had cervical cancer and did not use the dilators to stretch me back to normal and my vag is literally closed in on itself. Sex is not happening at all. Went in for my 3 month follow up and was torn to shreds by the speculum TMI but relevant to post it's a horror show

I had problems during treatment but now it’s all back to normal. We have been married 23 years, 5 kids, and have sex atleast 5 times a week!

I could not care less. I don’t need or want the drama of anyone so I never want intimacy again. It’s not worth the drama of having anyone in my life.

I got stage 3 rectal cancer at 79 years old. Radiation, two rounds of chemo, rectal resection, ileostomy (stoma bag for 7 months) ileostomy reversal. All of which were hell, but during the whole dreadful three years, sexual desire flagged a bit, but never left and physical ability has decreased.
90% of libido is in the mind, you just really have to make a special effort. There are masses of online sites giving advice here.
Yes, I've had a bit of a stumble here, but I'm going to catch up!

I’m five years post active treatment, still taking aromatase inhibitors and I have absolutely no sex drive. I just go through the motions, why should my husband suffer. But it absolutely sucks

Entered into this phase single and can’t imagine how that will ever change now. Sometimes that’s a peaceful thought, other times deeply sad.

My poor husband. I finished treatments for ovarian and uterine cancer in 2021, and we have not been intimate since. He's so kind, abd understanding, but I truly worry.

No, I am 5 months into treatment after having everything taken out. I’m still so physically attracted and desire my husband, it just isn’t as often due to having Chemo and waiting the 72 hours and the fatigue

I hate it that they think it has to be instantly over. I especially hate that there’s no conversation around this
