Truthfully, I don’t think Lindsay really cares what the decision is. No punishment handed to her will ever hold a candle to the prison that is living in her body and mind. I can’t help but feel for her.

Psych nurse- I think the thing that people don’t realize is that psychosis isn’t like you see in the movies. I had two patients who had delusions they needed to kill their kids. Luckily their families stepped in and got them help. But when they were psychotic when you spoke with them - they reasoned it like you would reason why you chose pancakes over waffles

Litigator here - you are spot on. The other huge insurmountable problem for the commonwealth is there is NO MOTIVE. Juries want a motive.

The jury still has to decide first and foremost whether she even committed the crimes to begin with. Then they have to decide if she was criminally responsible or not. They could still find her not guilty.

I am a lay person and I agree. Their argument is that she planned this (for no apparent reason) and is faking being insane (and then presenting evidence to the contrary) That makes no sense, women don't just wake up and Phineas and Ferb this plan and they seemingly can't come up with anything on her motive.

I could see a flat out guilty verdict, since the only doctor that saw her will testify to her having had psychosis will be the doctor that defense attorney brought to see her after the crime. And that’s also when the reports of the voices started. If I was a juror… I dunno, that strains credibility. I didn’t think her providers came across as negligent.

He's calling Dr. Resnick. He's the top daddy of all forensic psychiatrists when it comes to filicide and insanity defense evaluations. He has evaluated a lot of people like Andrea Yates, Susan Smith, Dahmer, Scott Peterson, etc, etc.

Personally I think there’s way too much evidence that it was imposssible for her to have done it. If they first have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did it in the first place- as a jury member there’s no way I think the prosecution executed that. I think the people who are adamant that she did it think that because of the civil suit “admission”- but that’s not admissible in court. I went into this trial assuming she did it because that’s all I’d heard- but I’ve spent HOURS watching testimony and researching stuff and now I think there’s no fuckin way. And this is all before the defense even presents anything. To me she’s not guilty. And even a not guilty by insanity would be a failure on her behalf- but it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

How can she be found guilty without proving that she did it? Everyone keeps saying they’re trying to prove she wasn’t having a psychosis episode, but shouldn’t they have to prove that she did it to begin with?
