I love this movie, it’s crazy how ppl dislike it because she was wrong,that’s the literal point of the movie. It doesn’t follow the formula of other rom coms, the main character is in the wrong that’s why it’s so great.

Jules loathed Michael while they were together because he was so obsessed with her, she felt as if he was suffocating her with his love. She wasn’t ready to get married so she left him. They remained close friends even after breaking up, until she realizes she still has feelings for him after he tells her he’s engaged. Because they’ve grown apart, Jules thinks Kimmy is all wrong for Michael because she’s very young, rich, well traveled, and she brings out a different side of him. One Jules has never known, which stirs those old feelings up even more. So, she tries seducing him and making him jealous (The kiss, the ring, the fake bf) and almost ends up ruining his wedding. Jules is selfish, unreasonable and unlikeable in a moral sense. Michael is hopelessly devoted to Kimmy and admires her unbothered displays of public affection (which Jules consistently denied him). Kimmy is oblivious to how serious her fiancé’s relationship with Jules really was. Very rage inducing rom-com.
