@mrs.natsha.18: The Confession Page Problem Part Two Miu stared at the message like it was a new revelation from a particularly cruel god. Her brain stopped. Restarted. Stopped again. Somewhere in the distance, a metaphorical Windows error sound probably played. Her eyes widened. Then widened some more. And as the realization finally crashed into her like a truck with absolutely no intention of braking, her jaw dropped. "P'Lena runs the confession page?!" She heard herself say it out loud. Then, as if her dignity had not already been obliterated enough for one night, she grabbed the nearest pillow and screamed into it. The pillow offered no sympathy. Neither did the universe. It took her several minutes to digest what had just happened. She had confessed. To Lena. Anonymously. Except not really anonymously. Because Lena had been sitting on the other side of the confession page the entire time. Miu slowly lowered the pillow. "...I am an idiot." She reached for her phone like a desperate woman searching for the emergency exit on a sinking plane. Her fingers fumbled over the screen. She called Bam. Then Orm. They picked up on the fourth ring. "How did it go?" Orm asked as soon as the call connected, a teasing smile already spreading across her face as she tried very hard to hide it. But then she saw Miu. The smile disappeared. Bam leaned closer to the screen. Their expressions shifted almost simultaneously. Miu looked like she'd just witnessed the collapse of civilization. "Yah!" Bam said, sitting up straighter. "What happened? You look like you just got robbed." It was a terrible joke. It did absolutely nothing to ease the tension. Miu slowly lifted her face toward the screen. Her expression carried the exhausted fury of someone who was one bad joke away from committing a felony. "YOU BITCHES!!" She yelled directly into the phone. Bam and Orm immediately bit their lips, desperately trying not to smile. Orm failed first. She burst out laughing. Bam elbowed her. "Stop!" Orm wheezed. Bam shoved her out of the frame and leaned toward the phone. "Yo, what the hell happened?" "Did you two even bother to research who the fuck runs that confession page?!" Miu practically screamed into the phone. Bam and Orm looked at each other. Their smiles vanished. Okay. This sounded serious. Orm snatched the phone from Bam. "How the fuck would we know?!" "Would you mind telling us what the fuck happened?" Miu took a deep breath. She closed her eyes. She counted to three. It did nothing. She opened them again. "P'Lena runs that confession page!!" "What?!" Bam and Orm said simultaneously. Their jaws physically dropped. They stared at each other. Then at Miu. Then at each other again. The silence lasted several seconds. Orm finally whispered, "...We're dead." "You are," Miu corrected. Bam swallowed. "Technically, you're the one who confessed." Miu's eyes narrowed. "Do you want to die first or second?" Bam immediately shut her mouth. Orm slowly lowered the phone. "Okay." She nodded solemnly. "This is bad." "Very." "Extremely bad." "Yes." "But..." Orm's lips twitched. Miu pointed at the screen. "Don't." Orm pressed her lips together. "I'm not laughing." "You are." "I'm processing." "You're smiling." "I'm coping." "Stop coping." ─── The next day, they were sitting in the anatomy lab. A place that was usually quite safe from Lena. Or, at least, they thought so. The three of them had spent the entire morning pretending that last night's revelation had not fundamentally altered the course of Miu's life. It wasn't working. "How?!" It was all Orm could manage to say. The rest of the sentence had apparently died somewhere between her brain and her mouth. They were still processing the midnight revelation of Miu the Great and Terrible. "How would I know?! It's all your fault!" Miu tried very hard not to physically grab Orm by the hair. Instead, she threw a book at her. Orm barely managed to catch it. "Why are you blaming me? It's not like I planned it!" Continuation>>>Comment section ⬇️

Orm's jaw dropped.
"You knew?!"
"Of course."
"You were in on it?!"
"Obviously."
Orm looked at Bam.
Bam looked at Orm.
Then both turned toward Lena.
Lena simply smiled.
"Actually..."
Pearl wiped her hands with a tissue, speaking as casually as if she were announcing a change to the lunch schedule.
"It was Lena's plan."
Silence.
Miu slowly turned toward Lena.
Her eyes widened.
Her expression screamed betrayal.
"You..."
Lena shrugged.
Miu stared at her.
"You planned this?"
Lena smiled innocently.
"I may have helped."
"You may have?"
Pearl laughed.
"Lena has known for... a while."
Miu looked like her soul had once again left her body.
"A while?!"
Lena squeezed her hand.
"Come sit."
"I don't want to sit."
"You haven't eaten."
"I've lost my appetite."
Lena gently tugged her toward the table.
Miu followed because apparently her dignity had already died and there was no reason to preserve the corpse.
She sat beside Lena.
Still holding her hand.
Everyone at the table stared at them.
Miu glared back.
"What?"
Orm smiled.
"Nothing."
Bam nodded.
"Absolutely nothing."
Ling grinned.
"Just admiring the miracle."
"What miracle?"
"That Miu finally confessed."
Miu groaned.
"I hate all of you."
Lena smiled.
Then, as if she hadn't just dismantled Miu's entire emotional stability, she picked up the menu.
"What do you want to eat?"
Miu stared at her.
"How are you acting so normal?"
Lena looked genuinely confused.
"Should I not?"
"We're holding hands."
"Yes."
"You just told me you'd say yes."
"Yes."
"You've known I liked you for years."
"Also, yes."
Miu stared at her.
Lena smiled.
"So?"
Miu looked down at their intertwined fingers.
Then back at Lena.
"...Noodles."
Lena nodded.
"Okay. Noodles."
Across the table, Orm quietly leaned toward Bam.
"That's it?"
Bam shrugged.
"Apparently."
Orm watched Miu and Lena for a moment.
"After all that?"
Bam nodded.
"She wants noodles."
Pearl stole another fry.
"Love is complicated."
Ling nodded solemnly.
"Apparently, love is also hungry."
Miu looked up.
"I can hear you."
Everyone laughed.
Lena squeezed her hand.
And for once, Miu didn't look away.
(That's it ✌️)

By lunchtime, Orm and Bam were sitting with Pearl and the rest of the group at their usual table.
They had successfully survived the morning.
More importantly, they had survived Miu.
They were in the middle of a conversation when Pearl, who was currently stealing fries from her girlfriend's plate with absolutely no shame, looked up.
Her eyes landed on two figures walking toward them.
She stopped chewing.
Orm followed her gaze.
Then Bam.
Then everyone else.
There was a brief silence.
Because Miu and Lena were walking toward them.
Together.
And holding hands.
Orm looked at Bam.
Bam looked at Orm.
Then both looked at the joined hands.
Then at each other again.
Orm's eyebrows rose.
Bam's mouth slowly fell open.
"Well," Orm whispered.
Bam nodded.
"She's alive."
"Apparently."
"Physically?"
"Debatable."
Pearl smiled knowingly.
"Oh, finally."
Miu heard her.
Her face immediately turned red.
"It took you a long time," Ling added, looking pointedly at their joined hands.
Bam frowned.
"Wait."
She looked around the table.
"How do you guys know?"
Ling stared at her.
Then laughed.
"Everyone knows except Miu."
Miu's head snapped toward her.
"WHAT?"
Ling grinned.
"You really thought nobody noticed?"
"Noticed what?"
Ling pointed at her.
"You staring at Lena across the table like—"
She paused, thinking.
"Like a Victorian widow waiting seventeen years for her husband to return from war."
Orm nearly choked.
Bam covered her mouth.
Pearl burst out laughing.
Miu stared at Ling in absolute horror.
"I did not!"
"You absolutely did."
"I was looking at the table!"
"The table was directly behind Lena?"
"Coincidence."
Ling shook her head.
"You looked at her like she was the last remaining heir to a dying royal bloodline."
"That's not even romantic!"
Ling shrugged.
Orm suddenly jumped out of her seat and pointed at Ling like she'd just uncovered a betrayal of historic proportions.
"You!"
Ling blinked.
"You mentioned the confession page deliberately in front of us so Miu could confess!"
She looked genuinely offended.
Ling threw her head back and laughed.
"Took you long enough to figure it out."
Orm's jaw dropped.

Miu stood up, ready to throw hands.
Orm immediately stood too.
"But it was your stupid idea!"
"Was it?"
A calm voice echoed through the empty lab.
It was not theirs.
Silence.
Orm froze.
Bam froze.
Miu stopped breathing.
Slowly, Orm turned toward the source of the voice.
Lena was walking toward them.
Her usual calm smile was on her face.
Miu's soul exited the building.
Bam pressed her lips together as she looked at Miu.
Her face had gone completely pale.
She looked...
Terrified.
Orm and Bam exchanged a glance.
Then, with the survival instincts of two women who had absolutely no intention of becoming collateral damage, they reached across the table for their bags.
"We'll leave you two to talk," Orm said.
"Wait—"
They were already walking away.
Miu grabbed Bam's wrist before she could escape.
She shook her head frantically.
Her eyes practically screamed:
DO NOT LEAVE ME.
Bam looked at her.
Then at Lena.
Then back at Miu.
She patted Miu's arm sympathetically.
"Don't worry."
She leaned closer and whispered,
"You got this."
Miu's eyes widened in betrayal.
"Bam—"
Bam gently freed her wrist.
Then ran.
Actually ran.
She disappeared after Orm so quickly that Miu briefly wondered if she had ever been her friend at all.
Coward.
Traitor.
Disloyal citizen.
Lena continued walking toward her.
And now she was standing directly in front of Miu.
Miu looked up.
"P'Lena..."
Her voice came out embarrassingly small.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to— I can explain—"
She started buffering.
Her brain produced approximately fourteen different sentences and rejected all of them.
"I mean, the page, and the confession, and I didn't know it was you, and obviously I wouldn't have—well, I would've, but not like that, and—"
She stopped.
Because Lena was laughing.
Not mocking her.
Not teasing.
A genuine, warm, amused laugh.
Miu stared.
Lena covered her mouth for a second, trying to compose herself.
Then she stepped closer and gently patted Miu on the head.
"Oh, Miu."
She smiled.
"You're so cute."
Miu froze.
Completely.
If someone had walked into the room at that exact moment, they would've assumed someone had unplugged her.

Lena walked toward the table, dropped her bag onto the chair, and turned back to properly look at Miu.
She had all the time in the world.
Miu, meanwhile, was experiencing every stage of grief simultaneously.
Lena sat down.
She rested her chin on her palm and looked at Miu with an amused smile.
"You should've confessed in person."
Miu swallowed.
"I would've said yes."
She said it with the casual certainty of someone stating a physiological fact.
Like:
The heart has four chambers.
Humans have two lungs.
And Lena would've said yes.
Miu stared at her.
"What?!"
Her voice cracked.
Lena smiled wider.
"I would've said yes."
Miu looked one wrong emotional push away from passing out.
"But..."
She pointed vaguely toward the phone.
"Then why did you let me send it?!"
"I knew it was you."
"You knew!"
"Yeah."
Miu's mouth opened.
Closed.
Opened again.
Nothing came out.
Lena tilted her head.
"Was I supposed to reject a confession?"
"No!"
"Then what's the problem?"
Miu covered her face.
"This is humiliating."
Lena laughed before reaching over and gently pulling her hands away.
"Don't hide."
Miu looked at her.
Lena's expression softened.
"I'm glad you told me."
Miu's heart gave one violent thump.
Then another.
Then apparently decided it had done enough work for the day.
"So..."
Lena smiled.
"Do you still want to pretend you don't like me?"
Miu stared at her.
"No."
Lena laughed.
"Good."
"Then let's make this easy."
Miu swallowed.
"How?"
Lena held out her hand.
Miu stared at it.
Then at Lena.
Then back at the hand.
"Take it."
Miu slowly placed her hand in Lena's.
Their fingers intertwined.
Miu's brain immediately left the premises.
"Are you okay?"
"No."
Lena laughed.
"I can see."
