Thing is tho… you never told it what accent Forrest has, how old the characters are, their ethnic background, what’s the time period, whether it’s set in a big city or small town… it automatically recognized that it’s the Forrest Gump movie and emulated decisions that people already made… btw it changed what Sally Field’s character was wearing which completely recontextualizes the meaning behind the lesson she gives to Forrest. Those details is where the storytelling really lies. So no, filmmakers aren’t cooked.

Since Gump is one of the most popular movies of all time AI theoretically would have seen the movie and have it to pull from. Can you reupload the script but change the names so it doesn’t know it’s Forrest Gump?

I love all the people here that don't get it. it's not that it recreated a movie it already knew. it's that it CREATED a realistic movie scene! now he can do another Forest Gump story. Or even a sequel with pure AI in days or weeks not years. The ability for independent film directors to innovate is now endless. There are 100,000x more Spielbergs in this world than the original. Now they have the tools and small budgets to bring their visions to life. It's exciting.

Remove all hints to Forrest Gump and slightly change the script. The movie is very likely in the training data and it just works so well because of that.
