Ive been waiting for almost a year. was housebound with treatment resistant severe ocd, told the wait was 6 months... please make sure they're giving you correct information because they've messed me around massively and I've been in crisis for months

take things that are safe and comforting, clothes teddies anything you can. I recommend headphones they're always helpful to block out any noise and check in with the ward rules so you know what to bring in for activities. most of all take it easy on yourself my lovely i really hope you have a positive experience 💗💗

i’ve been to both ocd treatment and other mh treatment in all levels of care. i would recommend bringing stuff to entertain you such, keep in contact with people you care about & try to create the best relationship with your team that you can. erp is so so so so hard. but you don’t have to be alone. something i found best when i was in residential is using the staff to help me with exposures/reducing rituals and compulsions, as well as doing exposures with my friends. it can be so empowering to do things with other people and watch other people get better!! you got this!! you can always dm me if you have any questions or things about both ocd and ocd treatment :)

Ok so I'm in a psych ward rn. never been somewhere specialist for my ocd but I'm on a ward because my ocd made me wanna not be here anymore. Ask about aripiprozole. I dont want to promote meds or something but I genuinely didn't know how life changing this little antipsychotic would be. it's prescribed off label for ocd and cut down my ritual time by HOURS

The time goes EXTREMELY FAST when you’re there. Make sure to take every opportunity to challenge yourself as much as you can manage.

Bring loads of stuff you enjoy doing that distracts you but doesn’t take too much brain power, therapy can be very exhausting but it’s good to have something to keep you a bit occupied x
