It's pressure.... On the range you hit a bad shot you just get another ball... On the course every ball matters

Its easy to be thinking you are hitting it well when you dont have a target. A good shot at the range blind aiming could be 20 yards left on the course

This is so so so true, I live in wales and we don’t have a single range that grass to hit off it’s all Astro turn crap. There is false improvement on a range. I’ve just reverted to my club and practice there instead of the range.

This, but people also very easily forget a bad shot on the range, as it simply doesn’t matter, just hit the next one. On the course it affects your next shot / the hole. I would also say, so many people go to the range & simply just hit all their clubs, their stock yardages, they don’t practice taking some off it to do an inbetween club shot, they don’t practice practical shots like keeping it low under trees / getting it higher up over trees etc.
