We have to remember that this will also be someone’s first xmen team. They will love them as much as we loved the first 10 years

Great points. The multiverse destroyed the stakes. There are no stakes when you can infinitely bring them back. When Ned Stark was killed at the beginning of Game of Thrones - this is what Marvel is missing. Invincible god characters are not relatable.

i truly believe that after endgame they should have took a five year break to set up the next phase. like "i can't miss you if yoy don't leave". right now feels marvel is living long enough to see themselves become th3 villain.

The ending of Infinity war was one of my favourite moments in the MCU. They let us get devastated. Have our hearts broken and not know if there would be a happy ending beyond that. I loved it.

For exactly this reason they should keep the X-Men separate from the rest of the MCU - X-Men works best when it can fully interrogate the Mutant struggle, the persecution and subjugation they face. Those themes are really going to struggle to land in a cinematic world where the Avengers are global heroes - why would Mutants be seen as dangerous villains distained by the same public and government that upholds other super powered individuals as heroes and national icons. Let the X-Men have their own story, in full, without the pressure to be held and tied into the wider MCU story telling merry-go-round. Bring them into an Avengers vs. X-Men crossover in 10 years or so if you have to, but let the X-Men have time to breathe on their own first for 3-4 films before I have to hear complaints about X-Men films not reacting to the events of some future near world shattering event in Dr Strange 3 or Deadpool 4.

I think Disney needed to let the hero movies die for a little while, 5 years at least, so the fatigue dies down and people move on, then get back to it with fresh takes and insight.

This is overthinking imo. These are comic book movies. It's a different medium, sure, but they're comic book movies based off of comic books and comic book characters.

Thank You!!! I stoped watching Marvel cause it’s gotten boring. We do deserve new stories, ideas, etc.. and not the recast of the recast. And you are SO right: A Story needs an End. And that was Endgame.

I think the key element you’ve missed here, in an otherwise superb point, is that investment was betrayed…when an arc was built, and discarded. We simply lack the buildup to care, because the premise of the arc, instead of adding weight, removed meaning.

I'm sorry that sounds more like a "you" problem than anything else. It seems you're treating movies not as entertainment or art but as a transaction.

That's true. But just like with the "Spider-Man" series, there's a new generation of "X-Men" fans who will grow up with these new characters.

comic books are good because every arch has an overarching theme. It offers some sort of commentary on an aspect of humanity that is very satisfying.
Marvel movies don't do that very well. it's explosions for explosions sake and emotional moments just because.
I think that's why I burned out from the movies before the last Avengers movie. they're pure entertainment. Ironman was just Ironman with catchy phrases instead of a well thought out social commentary on the dangers of addiction, the military industrial complex, and what happens when we manufacture superpowers.

You know movies are sometimes just movies. There doesn’t always have to be this ultra level of hype that all comic book fans seem to constantly be craving. It’s normal and sane and mature to look forward to something without being obsessed and consumed by it.
