A Minnesota woman is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors say a child endured nearly 17 months of severe abuse and torture inside her home. According to court documents, 36-year-old Paula Jo McCallister of Chisholm allegedly subjected the child to daily punishments from September 2024 through January 2026. One of the most disturbing allegations claims she forced the child to stand for hours with their toes and nose pressed against a wall, only allowing them to stop at bedtime. Investigators say the child was told they could not speak, turn around, or leave the position without permission. Authorities also allege McCallister threatened the child’s life during one incident by pushing them to the ground, cocking a pistol, pressing it against their forehead, and saying, “Your death would bring me sweet relief.” Investigators say the abuse went far beyond physical intimidation. The complaint alleges the child was sometimes denied food for days after being accused of stealing, locked in a room without food or water, and forced to kneel on grains of rice while holding weights as punishment. A sibling reportedly told investigators that the victim was disciplined almost every day unless McCallister chose to spare them. The child also said McCallister warned them not to tell anyone, claiming police would never believe the allegations because she had no criminal record and that the child would simply be returned to her care. McCallister has been charged with child torture, second-degree assault, domestic assault by strangulation, child neglect or endangerment, malicious punishment of a child, domestic assault, and false imprisonment. The child torture charge alone carries a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison if she is convicted. She has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.#fyp #viral
