My argument is 'why does couch tired not translate to bed tired '

it's actually a trauma response. somewhere in ur life your brain learned that it wasn't safe enough for night time sleep BC you have to stay up and "stand guard"so when it's light out and everyone else is naturally up and doing things they can "stand guard".

I know you've been touched by the tism I just cant prove it..... Idk, all sleeps are weird sleeps. Ive never been comfortable with micro death in the first place, let alone understand the mysteries of when and why it takes you. Me "going to bed" every night is just knowing Im gonna experience 2 hours of pain from the waist down for no reason and I dont want it but my wife will fall asleep anywhere and everywhere if a droopy eye befalls her.

Yes! And why does it take me 2 hours to fall asleep in bed but if I fall asleep in the living room it’s like I have anesthesia and fall asleep in less than 10secs whether I want to or NOT!

sleep, when you are prepared comes with expectations....this had best be a good sleep cos this is sleep time.
alternatively, ooh a cheeky lil extra sleep I have not prepared for. the pressure of sleep is ruining your sleep.

I can easily fall asleep on the couch any time of day, as soon as I move to my bed I’m wide awake. I hate it
