The people of Jabalia have come to rely on our Tawbah Clinic since it opened just this past April, not only in moments of urgency, but for the sustained medical care they need to survive and recover. Perhaps the greatest acknowledgment of what our team has built came directly from the community: “The Sameer Project brought this area back to life.” And now we have been forced to close the doors because we cannot afford to keep them open consistently and for months at a time. It costs approximately $2,050 per day to operate Tawbah, including the medications, medical supplies, emergency services and care our patients depend on. The need has not decreased. The patients have not disappeared. We simply do not have the funding to continue serving them consistently.
