Our local school district makes the student leave their phones in theor locker on silent. If they dont, they are confiscated and the parent must pick it up. 2nd offense, suspension. Out students have 87% going onto higher education. There is no reason for phones in the classrooms. And before you say school shootings, what are they going to do with their phone other than overwhelming 911 and having parents getting in the way of a serious situation in which they would help in no way.

they should collect phone numbers from the principal and vice principal and teachers if parents are in any emergencies, they can send the students to the phone and talk to the parent if it's an emergency phone call.

I'm kind of mixed on this topic because those kids a lot of times have saved live of other kids cuz some shooter comes in and they were able to call 911 cuz they had their phone. but if they didn't have their phone God knows how many other kids and teachers would be dead
