@ahmed.ayat06: Tano North Former NPP Vice Chairman and Tanoso Ankobeahene Arrested Over Alleged Illegal Mining TANOSO, Tano North – A former Vice Chairman of the NPP in Tano North Constituency and Ankobeahene of Tanoso has been arrested by police in connection with alleged illegal mining activities in the area. According to sources, he was arrested on Monday while allegedly loading stones to the Tanoso Palace that were believed to have been taken from an illegal mining pit. The arrest follows police operation targeting illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, in parts of Tano North. Authorities say the stones being conveyed to the palace were extracted without the necessary permits and are being held as evidence as investigations continue. Both suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Community members in Tanoso say they expect the law to be applied fairly, regardless of the status of those involved.
