I LOVE when i dont have to count cents woth friends. I do not care about splitting the bill with friend who i know will also do the same! I also have friends who somehow never end up paying and then i am more strict

it can be hard when you're trying to budget and others are blowing theirs, and their meal was over double yours for example. we try and match the company we are with, eg ordering starters/puds/multiple drinks, and with regular friends it usually balances out on the end.

For the 1st point, it’s also good courtesy to not order super expensive dishes and drinks and then expect to split with someone who ordered far less

I always split the bill even if someone gets an extra drink or starter as next time it might be me. But I friends who don’t drink and I wouldn’t expect them to split it x
