Get thissssss we moved into a duplex and had no idea what nightmare we were walking into. The place was roach infested and when we went to our landlord about it she refused to get an exterminator and we had to break or lease and let her keep or security deposit because we were all getting sick! Mind you I was pregnant!

We moved into a house from them and they let our main pipe stay busted for months on end and refused to fix it and then told the maintenance men to lie to us and tell us it was fixed, they didn’t fix it until our FOUNDATION COLLAPSED and we have to Evacuate and have no choice but to fix it because we called the city and threatened to take it to the news…

Yeah currently living in inhabitable conditions house settling basement leaking through the brick ceilings bowing growing fungi flowers 🙃subpump is messing up. When it’s time for mantenience to come they are always late so unprofessional actual owners are out of New Jersey 🙃we’re in Indiana. It all started at lead paint in the house 🙃

same! we live in a rent depot home.. we paid 2 months of rent, using a payslip, just for them to tell us that it went to someone else’s account & we still owe 2 months of rent.. MIND YOU, there’s a hole in the bathroom floor, our electric bills are $900+ every month & water is almost $500 a month.. Rent Depot will never get another cent from me until we get what’s owed to us, thankfully we just got approved for somewhere else.

we rent with them as well. we're having issues attempting to get ym abusive ex moved out of the home by force because he is making it impossible to afford the place and everything. but when it comes to pests, it is in the lease it is your responsibility unfortunately. I don't agree with it, but it's what you get renting with them. they are known slum lords but like I haven't found a less expensive place for a 3 bed whole house.

so when we moved into our house we found roaches you guys need to only sign leases that says landlord has to provide a pest free house for renters bc our landlord immediately took care of it . but that's not saying that all will follow by what they have in the lease but it will be a lot easier to legally force them to !

when you withhold rent it has to go in escrow to get paid after the repairs otherwise it's just non-payment

Honestly, my sister had rented out a house to 3 roommates that also had a dog. Well, they waited last second to move out and they left stains of all kinds (food, blood, etc) everywhere and let the dog piss on the wood floors, the carpet, and on the stairs. They told her that they didn’t have a dog and when she found out that they did have one they tried to tell her that it only stayed in the sun room. They lied obviously. They also didn’t clean well enough and they have to redo the bathroom as well because there are fruit fly larva/worms coming from the caulking. Horrible tenants and they will not be getting their deposit back. The parents of the 3 are her friends and they are mortified by the actions of their kids.

Also avoid Clark miller homes in Evansville! My ac was out all last summer, my basement was DIRT that flooded every single time it rained. My back door broke in half and my bf had to fix it because they wouldn’t, half of our fence was down which wasn’t like that when i toured, walls were caving in and the house was literally crooked. 818 se 8th street is also an address I’d avoid because they aren’t doing anything to fix it and had it posted a month after i moved.
