I visited Nepal in 2022 and went to have a dental surgery in Kathmandu. I got offended when a dental staff addressed me “Buwa” ( Dad/Father) while she was providing professional services. She looked like my younger sister in terms of her age. Later , I realised people in Nepal address other people in kinship terms like buwa (dad) Ama ( mom) kaka ( uncle), kaki ( aunt) , Dai/ Bhai ( brother), didi/baini ( sister), sathi ( friend) . Thank you Joel “ Kaka”😁😁 for providing important tips for people who wants to visit Nepal. Please say my 🙏🙏 to “Aama “ ( your mom).
