Your whole argument already assumes the unborn baby has no value, but you never explain why. Yes, the woman is the one carrying the pregnancy, so of course the man cannot force or threaten her. But no veto and zero say are two completely different things leh. Once conception has happened, especially when both of them agreed and purposely tried for a baby, it is no longer just about whether she wants to “have a child.” The unborn life is already there, and the father helped create it too. His feelings are not simply about wanting to become a father. He may genuinely feel responsible for protecting his unborn child. Now you are saying he cannot even honestly say, “I want the baby, but I will support your decision,” because that might influence her? Come on lah, every serious discussion between couples will influence each other. If the only acceptable response from the man is to keep quiet and pretend he feels nothing, that is not healthy communication. Nobody is saying he owns her body, but you also cannot act like the baby is only her business and the father is some random outsider. The woman carries the pregnancy, but abortion affects three lives, not just one. You cannot erase the baby and the father from the discussion, then call it empathy and equality.
