I genuinely picture a romance like the ones in movies—not a rom-com or a heavy drama, but the kind involving two fictional characters who meet and spend time together, sharing a deep, pure connection that exists only between the two of them. Even if they aren't "canon," the fandom ships them hard. They look out for each other discreetly and truly care for one another, yet there’s no need for a formal declaration of love—like asking "Will you be my girlfriend?" Instead, it’s something more subtle, less awkward or direct, and more comfortable—like saying "Save me," or something that doesn't necessarily is romantic but doesn't it’s entirely platonic, either. Does that make sense?

I don’t know if there’s a word for it but I’ve always imagined falling in love with someone and getting married one day but the idea of being in a relationship seems so draining. Like I want someone to be committed to me and be with me forever but I don’t want to go through the emotional turmoil of a relationship. Plus I really value my alone time and I need it to function, I just can’t imagine myself dating someone if it means I can never have time to myself. Plus my standards are so astronomically high that I have very little patience for people romantically. And am asexual so they would have to be okay with that. And I’m extremely career driven so they can’t expect me to sacrifice my future for them. And also I don’t want kids (again, I need alone time). So I want to be in love but I don’t want to be in a relationship
