Yesterday was 9 months since I lost my dad (after solo caring for him for 8 years). In the process of packing to move from our 1910 home, in our family since 1920, and where he was born. He was sooooo proud of that home, and that I shared it with him (duplex), but due to family dynamics, it’s being sold. All I did was bawl today. Like cry so hard you get in those choking and gagging spasms. I feel horrible walking away from this loved and cherished home of his legacy

Only a fellow caregiver could understand the stark reality of no longer knowing what to do after your parent passes. Still missing my mom every single day and its been a year and a half! 🙏🏻

I feel you. I lost my mom almost a year ago and my dad about five weeks ago. Dad had dementia and was in memory care after Mom died but I still saw him almost every day. It is a relief in some ways but I miss him terribly and I still cry missing my mom almost every day as well. Peace to you.
