Gojo could’ve sacrificed all those people, but he didn’t because he’s human. Gojo could have sliced down Kenjaku the moment he saw Geto back from the grave, but he didn’t because he’s human. Gojo could have defeated Sukuna had he not allowed himself to experience the emotion of relief because his students and everybody he cared about were safe, but he didn’t because he’s human. In trying to become the strongest, he strives to become a monster, but unlike Sukuna, he cares for those around him and is unable to. Gojo leans away from humanity as weakness, while Yuji leans towards humanity as strength. So he could have won, but it would be pretty boring narrative wise
