Ducati’s famous red colour stems from the tradition of national colours in motor racing and motorcycle racing in the early 20th century, when each country was assigned an official colour to identify its teams (Italy used red, later known as Rosso Corsa). The Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer inherited this sporting tradition, establishing it definitively in the 1970s and 1980s.
