I’m from St. Louis but both parents born and raised in CO and none of us pronounce them I always assumed it was my MO twang 😂

I live in Colorado from Michigan but we have a glottal stop in Michigan as well which explains why I don’t say my t’s

From the PNW and don’t pronounce the T’s. Pronouncing with hard T’s is unnecessarily aggressive.

I mean, it’s there, but it’s soft. It’s not “mounT-ins,” but it’s not quite “moun-ins,” either. There must be a linguistic word for it. I’m fifth gen. My grandma, who was born in Denver in 1920, said more things like the mid-west, like “warsh” for wash and “ruff” for roof. Her mother was born in the mountains here, but her father was from Brooklyn, NY from an immigrant Irish family, so I don’t know what all influenced her speaking.

I’d say Colorado has one of the more neutral accents which makes my East Coast accent stick out like a sore thumb

Pretty much the entire United States drops the T, this isn’t special or specific to how we talk here in Colorado 😅

I was born in CO but raised in SD and moved back as an adult..people in SD would say I had an accent and someone specifically asked if I was for CO as a teenager because of my accent. I wonder if it is because I drop my ts.....
