@twoparentsandapod: Take the time to understand their brain!!! Reading just a few articles about toddler development was like BOOM, instant patience granted 🫶 Because once you know WHY they're doing what they're doing (dumping the water, throwing the food, biting, having a meltdown over the wrong color cup), it stops feeling personal and starts making sense. Parents, what's ONE thing that made you more patient with your kid?? 👇 #twoparentsandapod #podcast #toddlerlife #parentingtips #parentingadvice
What you’re describing is gentle parenting! It has to have consequences. Most millennials are permissive parenting because we were raised by authoritarian parenting styles!

not understanding that what you just described is gentle parenting is why people think gentle parenting is just fuck all & let em do whatever they want. because I try(I'm still learning too) to gentle parent & I promise you my kids say please thank you & they have consequences for their actions.

Gentle parents and permissive parents are NOT the same thing. My understanding is that gentle parents use words and help understand what is happening but the job gets done, permissive parents give the power to the child.

Gentle parenting involves all the the accountability people confuse gentle parenting with permissive parenting but gentle parenting is the talking and prepping and learning how their brains work and working with how to direct and discipline accordingly to their development

It would be great to get a podcast about gentle parenting and the misinformation around it and the difference in style of parenting like authoritarian, authoritative, permissive and neglectful. Gentle parenting = developmentally driven parenting in our family
