I think the aborted weird route will be used to create chapter 6 data. Which will be needed for the side B lake skip to successfully find usable data wrong warp to chapter 7. Maybe the point of the weird route is to skip something somehow more TERRIBLE than it which happens in chapter 6. For example it could be something like the last prophecy or Kris losing their hand.

do Noelle or Kris even HAVE the ThornRing after aborting in ch4??? i thought Kris took the thorn away (as said in ch4 WR) and they probably hid it bc don’t want you having access to it again idk. maybe if you aborted at Berdly’s fight, but atp you’re deliberately avoiding the default WR path
