You're no longer discussing what happened — you're discussing how you responded to it. Here's the test, and it takes one second. A real apology names the act. A fake one names your feelings. That's the whole difference. They're not sorry it happened; they're sorry you're still on it. So ask for the missing half, flatly, without heat: "What are you apologising for?" Not sarcastically — genuinely. Make them say the thing out loud. If they can't name it, there was never an apology on the table to accept. A receipt with no item on it is not a refund.
