@drlorashahine: Your symptoms could be a medical condition you’ve never heard of…until now It may not be “just anxiety” How many women hear that before anyone checks their heart rate? 🫀 POTS is a form of dysautonomia. You stand, blood pools in your legs, your nervous system fails to compensate, and your heart rate spikes to make up the difference. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome The criteria are objective: 📈 HR up ≥30 bpm within 10 minutes of standing 📉 No drop in blood pressure 🗓️ Symptoms for 3+ months, no other explanation ~80% of patients are women, ages 15 to 50. It often follows a viral illness, and many notice premenstrual flares. Gather your own data. Lie down 10 minutes, take your heart rate. Stand, check again at 2, 5, and 10 minutes. Write it down. Numbers are harder to dismiss than symptoms. Average time to diagnosis is measured in years, and most patients are told it’s anxiety first. Your heart racing when you stand is not a panic attack. It’s a vital sign. 👇 Were you told it was anxiety? Educational content. Ask your doctor about your situation. #pots #dysautonomia

Doctors in Norway just say I have «unspecified tachycardia» 🥲 they barely know of pots and they literally didn’t find out why I had tachycardia (especially when standing) so they just put me on betablockers 😅 I fit about all symptoms of pots

my pots was so severe the weakness and heaviness in my limbs left me totally imobile. the fatigue and brain fog left me unable to process any information, therefore couldn't do my desk job. I dont think people understand how disabling pots can be as an illness

My cardiologist told me “it most likely is pots but I don’t see the point in looking into it any further as it’s a self managed condition” 🤦♀️I just want to be properly diagnosed so I don’t feel crazy anymore but I can’t keep spending money I don’t have for a appointment to just be told it probably is but I’m not gonna diagnose you with it😑

How do get your doctors to listen? Cause they blame my meds but this has happened worse before I was put on a beta blocker for anxiety but my heart rate will still shoot to 120-150 during this.

Why should I continue to bring this up with my drs if they are just going to gaslight me into thinking I’m just lazy and unhealthy… at 16 I had my first pots episode. I was told to drink more water… from then on they act like I am just a diagnosis seeker and hypochondriac. It’s hard to fight for your health when all the people you pay to help just dismiss you as being a hysterical woman… it’s exhausting

I have all this but the fainting/HR increase. Told it’s not POTS, but when I start having these symptoms and drink electrolytes I start feeling better (even if I’m already hydrated).
