We’ve had a water meter in our houses for almost the last 40 years. No problems other than a leak on the meter which Severn Trent sorted for free. And we only pay for the water we use👍🏻

I'm with Severn trent and have heard NOTHING about this. Plus I'm in a private house and the landlord would have a fit if they try to install one.

Not every house and flat can have a water meter. my daughter went to have one to try and reduce her bill. they couldn't fit one and the bill reduced by about 300 pound.

I want to be metered, I live on my own in a flat and only have a walk in shower, my bill currently is higher than my neighbour above me who has 2 kids, a bath and a shower, the only way I can get my bill reduced is by being metered

Good luck with mine as well have 1 pip and it divides into two underneath the driveways on our property and the neighbours so our stop tap is shared 😂

There’s no obligation to pay a water bill. Severn Trent sent me a bill of £389, 2 months after I moved in. I rang them to ask how I owed that much 8 weeks of living there, and how they had an accurate meter reading, because my meter is in the airing cupboard. 9 years later I’ve never received a bill after telling them they won’t be getting a penny off me.

That is true. I wanted a water meter and was told they tried to fit one two years ago, but because I have an old house, they can’t do it.

ive been numerous, times by seven trent, that because I share pipes, i csnt have a water mete. ive argued this matter for over 2 years, and the reason why ( according to them) putting a meter inside a property near my sink will not give proper readings.
