@theadventureaddicts: instead of eating your dinner leftovers tomorrow, eat them on the trail!! 🥾🏔️✨⛺️ This is one of my favorite tricks to start making your own backpacking meals!! It’s low stress, and you can just toss in whatever you made for dinner to have for your next trip! This works especially well with one bowl meals like pastas, stir fry, rice dishes, curry, etc!! For this dinner, we just had pasta with chicken, peas, sun dried tomatoes, parsley, lemon juice and Alfredo sauce! Super easy to make at home, and even better in the backcountry!! I make it without any oils to help it store better. At camp, you can reheat it just like you would with a mountain house meal. A little boiling water, let it sit, and it’s done! This meal could be freeze dried OR dehydrated. And I promise my comparison video of the two will be up soon!!! Some things to be careful of: fats and oils don’t store well, so a meal with Alfredo sauce is something I would keep know my freezer and eat relatively quickly (ie: I’m not storing this for 6+ months).
