@cbsmornings: A protest turned physical in Fargo, North Dakota, over the weekend, as demonstrators gathered amid rising scrutiny over Flock Safety's nationwide network of cameras that record license plate details. Meanwhile, officials in Hood County, Texas, have shut down and covered its cameras over privacy concerns. #Privacy #Cameras #LicensePlates #Texas #Flock
Trust in govt is at an all time low - why are they acting surprised when we are outraged?

Andrew :
“Records your license details” it isn’t a license plate reader it’s a camera on a pole taking pictures of everything infront of it feeding it into algorithmic AI models documenting everything on your car stickers, color, damage, and anything cosmetically. Doesn’t matter who uses it.

The way this news segment is blatantly misleading and obviously making flock seem not that bad…. Leaving out the fact that many people have been held at gun point after the system has flagged their car accidentally, etc.

Some of those cameras are pointed at pools or yards and not the actual street.

Bear in mind that the media did NOTHING to aide peasants' resistance to surveillance and are only now riding the coat-tails as if having favored the favorable (while still selling passed-down narratives to vilify resistance)

Unconstitutional. Violates the 4th amendment. Unreasonable search. The key distinction, an officer running random plates is a single moment in time tied to a specific spot. Flock doesn't just show your car was in a certain area once, it logs every single pass across every camera, creating a searchable timeline of your movements. Plotting that data on a map effectively places a GPS tracker on your car. Flock's own training videos show officers being instructed to track suspects from location to location to location and across state lines. That's not a single observation, that's reconstructing your commute, your doctor visits, where you sleep. An officer running random plates doesn't get that. The Flock system does. The ACLU points out that less than 1% of scanned plates are connected to any crime, meaning 99% of the data is on innocent people. That's the difference between a cop doing a spot check and a digital dragnet. These are not just license plate readers.
