@scriptinmotion: The ninth episode of Season 3 of Succession, written by Jesse Armstrong and directed by Mark Mylod, ends with one of the series’ most memorable scenes. Titled “All the Bells Say,” the episode won the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series for Jesse Armstrong. The title comes from John Berryman’s poem Dream Song 29, which ends with a line that seems to perfectly summarize the fate of the Roys: “All the bells say: too late.” Succession (2018–2023) 🎬 Created by Jesse Armstrong

The dialogue is really good, but the delivery is amazing… that scene broke my heart… and I acknowledge they were just freaking privileged people having 1st World problems…

The writers were always killing it on this show and I think a big reason for that is tht they knew they had the RIGHT PEOPLE cast in every role. I love that even though this show is a one hour drama, it's easily one of the funniest shows I've ever seen at the same. The flip side to that is the fact that we get so many amazing lines that just shatter you cause of how painful they are - like Roman's "He made me breathe funny." or Tom's "I wonder if the sad I'd get without you is less than the sad I get from being with you." and Connor's "You're needy love sponges, and I'm a plant that grows on rocks that lives off plants that die inside me." All beautifully written lines of dialogue that fit their characters perfectly to display how genuinely tragic they really are - and all written by the same comedy writers. my number one show
