When you look at the current situation, it is difficult not to question how much public money is being spent on illegal immigration and how many organisations, businesses and individuals are financially dependent on managing the consequences. More than ten years ago, many ordinary working people voted for Brexit because they wanted the UK to regain control of its borders and immigration system. They expected British laws and the British justice system to be used to manage immigration fairly and effectively, including dealing with people who commit crimes. Yet today, taxpayers are funding a vast system surrounding illegal immigration. This includes government departments and officials, accommodation providers, charities receiving public money, transportation, security, legal aid, lawyers, courts and judges, as well as healthcare and other essential services. There are also the costs associated with people being rescued by the RNLI, accommodated in hotels or other housing, provided with clothing and phones, and given access to doctors, dentists and hospitals. There are further costs involved in transportation to appointments, security, administration and officials' travel and expenses. Legal cases can also result in substantial costs being met through legal aid. My concern is not simply about the individuals arriving in the UK. It is about the enormous system that has developed around illegal immigration and the lack of transparency over where the money is going, who is receiving it and whether the system is actually working. How many people are employed directly or indirectly because of this situation? How much money is being paid to charities and private companies? How much is being spent on accommodation, transport, security, healthcare, administration and legal aid? And how much of the taxpayers' money ultimately ends up as profit? If organisations and individuals are making substantial amounts of money from a system that appears unable to resolve the underlying problem, then the public has every right to demand answers. I am not saying that every person or organisation involved is corrupt.

You do realise Britain is part of the 1951 Refugee convention, right? Claiming asylum is neither illegal or something the government, and any government before, want to stop. As a country we have agreed our duty to accept refugees. You seem to talk as though these facts don’t exist.

What happened to the laws of our country...... if you come into the UK illegally, you will be deported immediately. No ifs, buts, or maybes. Am I right that this law is still in existence? All I've seen in recent years is the increase in "life style" choice of illegal immigrants because they all know the UK is a soft touch & will give them whatever they need for free!! Many have been interviewed & all, without question have sighted the freebies they came for. Disgusting to think the taxpayers hard earned money is paying for all this & the powers that be, elected to honour the will of the people, have gone deaf & blind!! 😡😡😡

I watched a committee quizzing one of the firms involved asking why they where getting 17k a year per person but now its 44k a year and how much profit the company makes. he gave the numbers but stated that 1.9% goes back to the Government... so they are making money out of it as well 🤔🤔🤔 no wonder they haven't stopped it
