I one time fored an employee for calling out too much (a part time employee who called out 8 times in a single month, 8 out of 11 or 12 shifts) and she asked me "how can you fire me today, of all days? It's my mom's birthday!!!" and I responded with "I tried to fire you yesterday but you called out"

lol dude kept calling in and being late one day he finally did have an emergency but had no points left and told me I didn't care about his family and I was making him choose between his job and family...fast forward a few weeks he got caught in a drug raid and sent off to prison guess he didn't care about his family.

I managed an overnight cleaning crew and ONE of the problem children called me 5 mins before her shift crying and sobbing asking me to meet her in front of the building. So I did and then had to WALK HER INSIDE..just so she could try and tell me through tears how she was about to lose her apartment, she didn’t know if she would have enough money to cover XYZ. I was trying to be empathetic but honestly I couldn’t care less because she had been straight up leaving early, If the wind changed directions she would call out “sick”. So I listened to sob story and just said, “well if you clocked in now, we are offering you overtime but aside from that I have no idea what you are wanting me to do for you.” I think she ended up leaving that night early too. 🙄

I had two employees that would show up late leave early and it had been documented over and over in fact in a 2 month period one had 28 incidents the other had 24. And the company had been super lenient and both of them were shocked when they were wrote up lol.

That type of employee is always so much work too. They always have something going on and all the bad luck in the world. Every time I saw that employee’s number come up on my phone the anxiety would get multiplied by 100. “WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM TODAY”

We've been working on trying to get a member of our team fired for 2 years. Said person has had 4 separate right ups, calls out 1-2 a week on average and performs wage theft daily. Makes no sense to me

I fired someone for being late everyday, sometimes showing up at 4pm when their shift was at 9am… and I scheduled a meeting with her to fire her at 11am and she was there at 11:15am… I literally told her if you’re 5 minutes late tomorrow, you’re fired. Showed up 3 hours late.
