ok.. but like melting the Werther's into the condensed milk, and mixing in the pecans and some butter.. use it as filling.. then bake the filled apples for 10 minutes before draping the pastry over the top and baking for a further 20-25 minutes.. that'd leave the pastry room to rise..

honestly, if you cooked the apple some, replaced the caramels with the soft kind, baked it some more with the condensed milk, and then put the pastry on at the end (or not at all) it would probably be pretty good.

If she had used any other type of caramel I would have been okay with this but Werthers Original is not a caramel to use for well anything.

The fact she could have just bought the caramel instead of using the hard ass candies that clearly didn’t melt 😭 Nestle Carnation literally sells it, she could have gotten it and the sweetened condensed 😭
