So being on the other side having to hire Software Engineer: 1. please interact with GitHub/Open-source community and have some projects posted. Toss a commit and maybe even a PR out there. 2. I ask realistic questions, if you have python on your resume, PLEASE be ready to answer a basic syntax question or two. 3. Don't lie. I have worked in software long enough, I will sus your stories out pretty quick. I'd rather you say idk than lie then fail a 101 question. 4. Banter, and ask questions at the end, IDC if it's something we just went over but just ask something, double check my name, ask about the food in the area, idk but saying you got everything just leaves a the interview with dead air and a feeling of a lack of interest. Go learn a language, don't rely on AI for everything, and support the community. 😅
