Hammond hasn't got dwarfism and he didn't start after May. James joined Clarkson and Hammond. It was Hammonds lack of height that saved him in the dragster crash. May was supposed to drive it but for some reason couldn't. They said if May had been driving then he would of been decapitated because he is taller.
