Stop and turn around. Save this and send this to someone. 100 + motivational clips in bio. Chazz Palminteri is an actor and writer best known for A Bronx Tale — a story he pulled from his own life, and refused to sell unless he could tell it his way. A man who built everything by facing things head-on instead of running from them. And this is one of the most quietly powerful things he's said. The best way to fight the demons that chase you in the night is to stop and turn around. Everyone has them. The fears, the regrets, the problems, the memories that come for you when it's quiet and dark. And the instinct is always to run — to distract yourself, numb it, stay busy, look away, do anything but face it. But here's what running does: it keeps the thing alive. As long as you're fleeing, the demon stays behind you, chasing, growing, feeding on the fear of it. Palminteri's point is that avoidance is what gives it power. The moment you stop, turn around, and actually look at the thing — the fear, the problem, the truth you've been dodging — it almost always shrinks. It's never as big up close as it was when it was chasing you in the dark. Most of what haunts people is terrifying only because they refuse to face it. Turn and look, and you take the power back. The chase ends the second you stop running and decide to confront what's behind you. Whatever's chasing you in the dark — stop running. Turn around and face it. That's where it loses its power.
