@bahr_al_basirah: Providing your child with food, clothing, shelter and the basic necessities of life does not give you ownership over them like a pet. A child does not owe lifelong obedience, access, or tolerance of abuse simply because their abusive parent fulfilled the responsibilities that came with bringing them into this world. Parents have rights in Islam, but children have rights too. Fulfilling your basic duty as a parent does not give you permission to oppress the person you were entrusted with. And this is where people often confuse gratitude with submission. You can acknowledge what a parent provided for you without pretending that it erases or outweighs the severe harm they inflicted on you. A debt of gratitude does not mean a debt to endure oppression. Allah is Just. One obligation does not cancel another, and the rights of parents do not become a licence to violate the rights of their children. You are allowed to recognise what was given to you while still being honest about what was done to you. -Follow for more and view our blog for more information on this- #islam #fyp #islamic_video #muslimtiktok #muslim
