I’m a commercial superintendent and I do this on all my sites so when the boarders miss something AND THEY WILL MISS SOMETHING!!! I don’t mark studs just electrical, hvac openings, data and plumbing clean outs. The marks on the floor don’t lie.

Not sure of value of marking studs - but I do mark outlets, switches and cans/ pendants. It's amazing how quickly you forget locations once it goes white.
