They also cant accept that gaining weight/inability to lose weight is a symptom and not the cause of everything 😮💨

I have the same exact experience with my high cholesterol that is hereditary! They thought once I lost weight I could stop my cholesterol meds and when I tried it was higher than when I was bigger. Literally everyone in my family has high cholesterol, even the ones who have always been skinny.

My cholesterol too. It went up when I lost weight and they still said it was my fault. Meanwhile my fam all has 300+ without meds

When I lost weight at first every doctor was so happy and "proud" of me. My gallbladder gave out, which is normal for any significant weight loss. When I went in for the surgery they all gave me this lecture about how losing weight is dangerous and I should have known.

Walked on a torn meniscus and acl for years. Used KT tape to hold it together. Had to beg for an MRI and they were shocked it was as bad as it was. Lost 125lbs and need the other knee done. Walked in and they scheduled the surgery no questions asked

I lost 200 lbs, it changed/ruined almost every relationship in my life. It changed the structure of my social groups.🤣😭 Then, that made me so depressed I gained back 50, now I’m losing that 50 again and have decided I don’t care. They can hate me fat or skinny, I’m minding my own business. Real ones are so far and few between, it’s best to have your own back, no one else probably will when the chips are down.

No for real. Same thing with my doctors. I have bad pcos symptoms I was 280 pounds they wouldn’t take me seriously then and told me I need to lose weight and that would help. Now I’m 160 on maintenance and very active I want to put on muscle. But my pcos symptoms are still here and just as bad if not worse still not being taken seriously and the doctor is acting like I’m crazy and have a eating disorder instead of the pcos that has been documented but whatever. It’s not that we’re fit or not it’s that we’re women!!!

I have POTS. Before diagnosis, they told me I needed to workout more, in other words, fat=symptoms, no testing. I wasn’t working out because I was passing out and had several concussions from it. spoiler: working out more did in fact make it much much worse. 🥲

I started a GLP1 before moving out of state; I’ve seen my new PCP four times since moving. Every time she gawks at my weight loss and comments about how great the meds are…even when I’m there for something unrelated…Like a raging UTI and the highest BP I’ve had in four years (probably due to the pain). I get that if it were a physical or follow-up on labs for the meds it would be appropriate, but not when I’m there for help and you’re only allotted 10 minutes max for an appointment to boot.
